GENERAL LABOURER - Woodshop

This person will have many tasks ranging from utilizing wood working machines including a planer, jointer, saw, and sander. 
Accountant

The accountant will be responsible for full cycle accounting up to and including financial statements, preparation and variance analysis, cost allocations, cash flow, budgeting, refunds, variance and financial analysis.
Reporting to the Vice-President and President this role possesses a high degree of integrity when managing day to day accounting responsibilities, monitoring and reporting against operating and capital budgets, monthly accounting, and financial planning.
As a strong team player and a focus on financial accounting, you analyse financial information critical to business interests and present finding to enable knowledge-based decision making and forecasting.
Some of the Duties...
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts
  • Prepare all journal entries
  • Auditing of books of account
  • Preparing cheques, coding and posting invoices, preparing deposits, journal entries, reconciliations, petty cash
  • Reviews monthly bank reconciliations (Bank and Clearing)
  • Daily reconciliation of credit card receipts
  • Assist with month-end financial reports on multi-accounting books
  • Prepare departmental financial statements
  • Exert care and control over fixed asset, land ledgers and records in capital asset database
  • Assist in the coordination and maintenance of the cost accounting system for monthly allocation of crop costs, including required costing variance analysis
  • Maintain and reconcile WIP and finished goods inventory records
  • Calculate and submit various HST and PST reports and payments
  • Report and reconcile fuel data
  • Assist with preparation and maintenance of working papers and spreadsheets
  • Assist in the preparation of budget and financial forecasts
  • Maintain an accurate and complete trail of supporting documentation for all financial and bookkeeping activities
  • Maintain policy and procedure documents
  • Other duties as requested
Requirements
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field required
  • Preference will be given to candidates that hold or are in the CPA designation program
  • 2-4 years recent related experience in full cycle accounting including job costing
  • Proven experience in taking responsibility for full-cycle accounting processes, policies, and systems
  • Strong financial acumen and analytical agility
  • Detail oriented, organized and able to meet tight deadlines
  • Advanced working knowledge of Excel and Quickbooks
  • Self-motivated and results driven, prefers to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment
  • Proven prioritization, time management and project management skills
  • Highly effective written and interpersonal communication skills; the ability to build a positive, team-oriented environment
  • Demonstrated aptitude in dealing with private and confidential information; uses diplomacy and tact in all interactions
  • Knowledge of accepted accounting rules, practices, tax laws, and reporting requirements
  • Attention to detail in all areas of work
  • Must be bilingual (EN/FR)

Chief operations officer
​Responsible for manufacturing, warehousing, purchasing and planning to produce on time products that meet quality standards and cost targets.
 
ESSENTIAL TASKS & DUTIES

  • Create and implement an inventory management strategy.
  • Prepare production schedules and inventory raw materials and finished products.
  • Issue purchase orders for the supply of raw materials.
  • Issue purchase orders for the supply of industrial supplies.
  • Supervise the overall production of products, including planning of production, time and machine utilization, quality control and inventory control.
  • Optimization of employee production and material efficiency through planning and coordination.
  • Work with the engineering department to improve the production process.
  • Prepare and manage budgets for factories or production services
  • Management of production supervisors and resolve performance issues as needed.
  • Review and compile monthly activity reports as needed.
  • Lead a quality control system and implement reporting methods on production;
 
 RESPONSIBILITIES & ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

  • Help recruit production employees.
  • Ensures that all staff members receive appropriate training to enable them to perform their work effectively and efficiently.
  • Provide daily direction, coaching and leadership to the supervisor / team leader team to ensure alignment with operational strategies and corporate objectives.
 
 QUALIFICATIONS:
 
Knowledge and skills :
 
In order to be considered for this position, you must hold a Bachelor's degree in Operations Management or Engineering with at least five years of experience. You are known for your sense of observation, your leadership and your ability to communicate. You are not afraid of challenges.

  • Must be 100% bilingual.
  • Advanced PC experience, including Microsoft Office skills.
  • Responds to changes in a positive way and deals with other tasks as needed.
 
Minimum education requirements or equivalent:
 
• University degree in Production Operations Management or Engineering or any other combination of education and experience could be considered.
• College training in production management combined with solid production experience in a manufacturing plant.
 
Experience:
Relevant experience of 10 to 15 years in a growing SME environment and related production with manufacturing and distribution
